Conflict of Interest (COI)

A clash between requirements and interests. Various types of conflicts of interest can occur because of the nature of relationships versus rules of organizations or federal and state laws. There are three types of conflicts of interest which can arise at UNC-Chapel Hill: Individual Conflict of Interest (COI), Organizational Conflict of Interest (COI), and Institutional Conflict of Interest (COI).
