Electronic Data Capture (EDC)

The use of a software system to capture and manage clinical trial data in electronic form. Instead of the data being recorded on paper, it is saved in an Electronic Case Report Form (eCRF). Clinical trial data may be captured electronically at its source, or in paper form and later transcribed into the EDC system.
