Budget revision

Any change made to the budget during the life of a funded project. The ability to make changes, with or without approval of the sponsor, are dictated in the award documentation. A budget revision may constitute a need for prior approval. It is a line-item portrayal of the funds needed to complete the sponsored project. UNC-Chapel Hill OSR: Glossary
