Investigational Drug Service (IDS)

A licensed pharmacy that provides support and guidance for the safe and efficient conduct of clinical drug trial(s) at UNC-Chapel Hill and UNC Health in accordance with federal and state regulations, accreditation standards and institutional policies for investigational drug control. IDS services include dispensing investigational product (IP), managing inventory, monitoring storage and temperature conditions, maintaining accountability and data records, supporting monitoring visits and audits, and responding to questions from study teams and sponsors.
